Well, after being sickly the first two days in Omaha, I finally had some more energy yesterday! Hung out with the Petey, Ava and Eli, then headed over to Shorty's to hang out with her and Carter for a bit.
Petey and the kids have headed out this morning, so I think I'll take a moment to enjoy the peace. Gotta get recharged for Ava's return. I've been informed she'll be ready to listen to Gwennie when she gets home. The fun never ends around this place! I wouldn't trade it for anything!
A few of my friends came over for dinner and drinks on Friday night. (Minus Marci...we missed you!) We used to go shopping, but since that hasn't happened in a few years, this little gathering took place.
Just thought I'd send some of my holiday cheer your way.
My tree.I've got gifts...I never have gifts to put under there. An oldie, but a goodie. Trusty Rusty...Thanks, Tia....Made with love at the Iowa State Fair. Thanks, Granny. I have to imagine, since I won't be getting any here. Thanks, Mom. Counting down the days. My mantle, thanks Princess House...love me some Ruby Fantasia. Thanks, Aunt Jamie...from Germany.
My bags. A (partial) decade of cool. Thanks, Mom. Mmmmmmmmm.
Well, I took my CTEL exam on Saturday. It was a three part test, hopefully I did okay, or else I'm gonna have to go purchase this. Not what I want to do, I guess I'll find out on January 16.
Off to work, and then to do some holiday shopping!
Well, it's the first official day of my vacation...and I'm heading to work.
I will be tutoring and making up my trade days (from my trip to San Francisco) for the first two weeks of vacation. Thankfully I have 3 1/2 weeks after that.
Everyone getting into the holiday spirit? I am...pix to come.
My school had a function this morning to bring kids and their parents closer together, so I decided to help out. Our counselor brought in motivational speakers for both moms and dads, and then had activities set up outside so that the families could have some bonding time. I think there were about 200 people there. It was exciting to see. Everyone looked like they were having a good time.
Went to San Diego yesterday to participate in the Race for the Cure for breast cancer awareness. Thanks for the idea mom...She did the one in Des Moines last week. In celebration of. The 5k took us through Balboa Park. Lots and lots of people, lots and lots of pink. My hair curled up as soon as I stepped out of the car. Darn humidity. The sea of people Beautiful skyline. Off we go.What a great way to spend a Sunday morning. Getting exercise for a good cause!
