New President

I was quite impressed today,
turned on the tube to watch Obama be sworn in this morning,
and the kids actually sat still for 30 minutes.
They listened attentively during his speech,
clapped when appropriate,
and wrote all about it in their journals...impressive.

Vacation Part 1

Well, after being sickly the first two days in Omaha,
I finally had some more energy yesterday!
Hung out with the Petey, Ava and Eli,
then headed over to Shorty's
to hang out with her and Carter for a bit.

Petey and the kids have headed out this morning,
so I think I'll take a moment to enjoy the peace.
Gotta get recharged for Ava's return.
I've been informed she'll be ready
to listen to Gwennie when she gets home.
The fun never ends around this place!
I wouldn't trade it for anything!

A few of my friends came over
for dinner and drinks on Friday night.
(Minus Marci...we missed you!)
We used to go shopping,
but since that hasn't happened in a few years,
this little gathering took place.
