1st grade conversations.

Conversation in my classroom today.

Twin 1: My dad is going to school.
Me: Oh, he is, that’s great!
Twin 1: Nah, it’s cuz he was drunk.
Me: Oh. Well, maybe you shouldn’t talk about that at school.
Twin 2: Yeah, he gets drunk and he gets mad. He had a knife. He cut off my brother’s fingers. Just one, but they put it back on. It was our older brother.
Me: Well, I’m glad they put it back on.
Twin 1: Yeah, he was really mad at our brother.
Me: Did the police come to your house?
Twin 2: There were 3 police cars and they took our dad. He had to go to jail. It’s cuz he was drunk.
Twin 1: He’s home again.
Me: Alright, back to American Symbols…

After school, mom comes to pick up the boys.

Me: I just wanted to let you know that the boys were talking about some family problems in class today.
Mom: What’d they say?

I repeated most of the above.

Mom: Yeah, it’s true. Thanks.

Allman and Doobie Bros.

Went to see the Doobie Brothers and Allman Brothers Band
on Tuesday at the Greek Theater in L.A.

Pretty cool show,
especially when Bruce Willis came out to jam on the harmonica
and
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers came out for a couple of songs!
I love him!

Girls' Day Out

Had a wonderful day on the town with my girls.

Met up at Idali's in the morning, and headed out to the train station.
Arrived 15 minutes early and decided to snap a few pix
while we looked fresh.

Ding...Ding...the train rolled in.

"Why not take some more pix?"

Uh oh, we didn't get on quick enough.
Mass hysteria.
That is when we decided that if we ran with the train,
it would stop and let us on...NOPE.
The girls were still running, looking like fools,
so I ducked behind a structure, hoping no one could see me anymore.

We had to wait an hour,
so we decided to take an "after we missed the train" pic.

The depot restroom was locked, so we went to a fast food joint to use the toilet.

On our way through the parking lot, we spotted a baggie of drugs.

Yes, there were white crystals inside of it.Thought about picking it up as a souvenir, decided against it.

Finally got on the train.

Once we made it to Olvera Street,

we headed to one of the restaurants and had lunch and a few margarita's.

ole!Delicious.

No so delicious..oh well, we had a great time.

Didn't hang out long, after lunch we got back on the train and spent the remainder of the evening chatting and downing tequila, ice, and a bit of margarita mix.

was mailed a voucher for a free stay at the palazzo, so i took alex with me and we enjoyed the short trip. walked around, saw jersey boys, went to fremont street...good times.
