My LA County Fair Experience

Okay, once I got over the $17 ticket, I was able to enjoy myself.

Dad, this pic is for you...upon entering the gate,
we got to drive down the drag racing strip at the pamona speedway.
We didn't get to go fast, but I felt cool for a second,
channeling Shirley Muldowney.
Sooooo, the fair...it wasn't half bad.
Quite different from what I'm used to,
but in some respects, very much the same.

I went with my friend Amy,
her husband, Berto,
their son, Aiden,
and their nephew, Ryan (he's in the bottom pic.)
I don't think adults are supposed to pose at this one...oh well.
Who knew, real, live cows, in California.
Alright, I knew, but it still boggles my mind,

My, my...sheep and all...love this picture.
I think this was my favorite part of my adventure, as I was walking through the animal barn, I looked up and saw this through the fence. Thank goodness for my great zoom...because, this is NOT a site I get to see at the Iowa State Fair...Palm trees and a Ferris wheel.
They were singing "Kiss an Angel Good Morning"There was a big yellow slide...What??????

I didn't try one of these, but they looked good.
Just a reminder...

looked pretty spectacular,as well.
Met up with another friend, after the fair,
and heard a few rockabilly bands...pretty cool.

L.A. County Fair

I'm heading out to the L.A. County Fair...not sure how I feel about this.
Am I betraying my roots?
Whose gonna pay for my breakfast?
Will there be tractors, ISU bird hats?
Will I be able to find a corndog, or get a sample of AE ice cream?
Will my granny be there with cucumber slices and taquitos?
Will Lynette be there with her neck cooler and water bottle contraption?
Will my mom and tia be there to tell me about where they used to hang?
Will Rosie be selling her goods?

Oh my, I think I'm about to have an anxiety attack.
Wish me luck!

Oh wait, this is just a county fair, I needn't worry!

Wicked

Went to see Wicked again, last night.
It was very strange.
Different cast, different scenes...okay, maybe not, but for some reason, I didn't remember much from the first show, so I felt like I was watching a new musical all together.
Saw the show at Pantages in Hollywood.

I'm not in IOWA anymore!

Country Corner Cafe

Shelley, Brandy and I went to a birthday party last night.
It was an event...let me tell you...fun, but rather strange.

There was a live band...Social D cover band...ehhhh.

Yeah , it was real...diaper and all.But, but...I want to dance with you.

Well, maybe he thought he was at Studio 54.Calling it a night...good times, better memories...haaaaa.
